A Klook Pass bundles several attractions in one city for one discounted price. You choose the size first (two, three, or four attractions, for example) and pick the attractions later from your booking. Passes cover Sydney, Melbourne, and popular overseas cities, and the savings differ by city.

The price doesn't change with your picks, so fill it with the attractions that cost the most on their own. Based on our research, Gold Coast passes save the most on the priciest combinations and only a few dollars on the cheapest.

KlookCash and e-Gift Cards can't be used on a pass, so for one or two low-cost attractions, single tickets partially paid with KlookCash can work out cheaper.

Every attraction needs a reservation before you visit. Pass holders get selected dates and times rather than every slot that the attraction offers on its own website, which partly explains the lower price. Popular attractions sell out, and the Sydney pass page suggests reserving at least 48 hours ahead.

• The whole pass can be cancelled for a refund any time before your first reservation, within the activation period.

• After that first reservation, nothing on the pass can be cancelled or refunded, including unused attractions.

• Reserved dates and times can't be changed, and each attraction can be visited once per pass.

• Reserved tickets aren't transferable, so booking details must match the person visiting.

• Klook's fix for a wrong pass is to cancel and rebook, which only works before your first reservation.

Make that first reservation once your dates are firm, starting with your must-see attraction.

100 KlookCash is worth US$1, and its Australian dollar value moves with the exchange rate. It lands within 24 hours after a completed activity ends.

Rates depend on the activity and your tier.

• Explorer members earn 0.10% to 0.80% of the amount paid.

• Gold members earn 0.28% to 2.40%.

• Platinum members earn 0.48% to 4%.

For example, a $500 booking earns 50 cents to $4 for an Explorer and $2.40 to $20 for Platinum. Gift card purchases, coupon packs, and free bookings are excluded.

Once you hold at least 10 KlookCash, tick its box in the Discount section at checkout. It can't go towards Klook Passes, e-Gift Cards, travel insurance, Stay+ packages, or selected events such as some concerts and festivals. Each batch expires 365 days after you earn it (shown under KlookCash in your profile) and can't be restored.

On a multi-activity trip, book later activities after earlier ones finish where availability allows, so fresh KlookCash comes off the next one. Spend the oldest batch first. Most of it is lost if you save it for a trip over a year away.

Verified reviews and photos help you avoid a tour that doesn't match its listing, and writing your own earns KlookCash. A review of 100 characters or more earns 20, or 30 with three or more photos. Only the first 10 reviews a month pay, each written within a month of the activity date. Free bookings, bookings under US$5, flights, repeat bookings within 30 days of the last one, and activities that already had more than 100 reviews earn nothing.

Ten photo reviews in a month add up to 300 KlookCash, or US$3. Smaller tours with fewer than 100 reviews are the ones that pay, so snap three photos during the activity.

Klook Rewards is free and automatic. Spending is tracked in US dollars at the exchange rate when each booking is confirmed, and only completed bookings count.

• Explorer, the starting tier, earns KlookCash on eligible bookings.

• Gold needs US$500 spent within a year as an Explorer and earns about three times the Explorer rate, plus member-only rates on selected activities, car hire and hotels, priority customer support and a welcome gift pack.

• Platinum needs a further US$1,500 within a year as Gold, for the highest earn rate, continued member-only rates, VIP customer support and a larger welcome gift pack.

Tiers last 365 days from the day you reach them, with no grace period. Gold members who spend US$500 to US$1,499 in their year stay Gold, and anyone who falls short drops one tier. Spending counts before taxes, fees, and discounts, but e-Gift Cards, coupon packs, and concert tickets don't count, and cancelled bookings are deducted.

Bookings completed after an upgrade earn at the higher rate, so when you're close to Gold, complete the bigger bookings first and book the rest after the upgrade. The welcome gift pack is claimed on the Rewards page, and each Klook voucher code inside has its own expiry.

Selected activities sell paid protection under Upgrades at checkout. The No-show Refund returns 60% of what you paid if you don't turn up, no questions asked, and Klook lists Australian residents as eligible. Where offered, the Satisfaction Guarantee can refund 30% or 100% if the activity doesn't meet expectations, provided you claim from the Bookings page within 10 days with three clear time-stamped photos.

Neither refunds its own fee; the guarantee doesn't refund discounts or promo codes, and a No-show Refund comes back in the same mix of cash and Klook credit you paid with. They suit an expensive fixed-date booking with no cancellation. Otherwise, free cancellation is usually the cheaper protection.

Each activity lists its own cancellation policy.

• Free cancellation activities can be cancelled within the stated window via Apply for a refund on your Bookings page.

• Conditional cancellation refunds apply only under set conditions, such as a handling fee, a weather cancellation, or a partial refund.

• No cancellation means no refund, and nothing is refunded once a booking or activity is completed.

• Open date tickets work any day within their validity period, and fixed date tickets are only valid on the day shown. A no-show without notice isn't refunded.

• Approved refunds start within 24 hours and usually take 7 to 14 business days to reach a card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.

Codes redeemed on the Promo codes page apply automatically to eligible bookings, but not always the best one. Before paying, swap in any other Klook discount code you hold and keep whichever gives the lowest Subtotal.

Value Packs are promo code bundles bought upfront for later bookings. They sit on the Promo codes page in your account and apply at checkout like any other Klook promo code. They can't be combined with other promo codes; some packs limit how many you can buy, and refunds on unused codes depend on the pack's cancellation policy.

A pack only pays off if the bookings you're sure to make before the codes expire save more than it costs.

The Spring Travel Sale arrives around March with deals on Asian destinations such as Japan, Korea and Hong Kong. Klook has joined Frenzy Sale Travel in August, covering Japan, Bali and the USA, plus eSIMs and car hire. The Friday Sale and Cyber Monday in late November have brought big theme park discounts, including US and Hong Kong Disney parks.

Sale discounts usually cover selected packages, not every ticket or date.
