Codes go in at the payment step, after you've chosen how to pay.

1. Copy the code from the Deals page, or from the Promos tab in the app.

2. Choose your flight, hotel or activity, fill in the traveller or guest details and continue to the payment page.

3. Select your payment method.

4. In the Coupon box, tap Add, paste the code and tap Add again.

5. Check that the total has updated before you tap Done and pay.

If a code is rejected, the usual culprits are a minimum spend you haven't reached, a product or route the offer doesn't cover, or a payment method it isn't valid with. Open the offer's terms and compare them with your booking before you contact support.

Not always. Traveloka's terms say that, unless an offer states otherwise, promotions can't be combined with other promotions or with its loyalty programs. Some offers do allow points alongside them, but the offer's own terms are the only reliable guide.

When you can only use one, do the maths. Points are worth 1 cent each, so 1,500 points take $15 off. If the coupon saves more than that on the same booking, use the coupon and keep your points for the next trip, unless they're close to expiring.

For bookings in AUD, Traveloka accepts Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards, PayPal and PayID. The Deals page also has Payment and Banks tabs for offers tied to particular cards or payment methods when they're running.

Because you pick a payment method before entering a Traveloka discount code, check that the method you've chosen matches any payment linked offer. An offer tied to one card or wallet won't apply if you pay another way, and it usually can't be stacked with a second promotion unless its terms say so.

Traveloka sells eSIM data packages for many destinations across Asia, which you buy in the app's Xperience section before you fly and activate by scanning a QR code sent by email. Free eSIMs aren't a standing offer on the Australian site, so treat one as a paid extra unless the product page or checkout shows a promotion that covers it.

Before you buy, confirm your phone supports eSIM (most iPhones from the XS onwards and many recent Android models do). Then match the package to your trip. Daily quota plans suit short stays with steady use, while a total data package can work out better if you mostly need maps and messaging over a longer trip. It's also worth pricing the package against your own carrier's roaming add on for the same days, since the cheaper option depends on how much data you'll really use.

Refunds start in the Bookings menu of the app or website. For a flight, open the ticket, scroll to the Refund section and choose the reason that matches your situation. The "See how much I'll get" button shows the estimated amount and timing before you commit, and that estimate can change with the airline's policy. For a hotel, open the booking, tap Refund under Manage Booking and check the refund policy on your hotel voucher first, as cancelling may incur a fee. Hotel refunds are processed once the hotel approves them and take 3 to 14 days.

Two details in Traveloka's terms are worth knowing. Bank, merchant or other service fees can be deducted from a refund, and Traveloka may offer credit, points or a Traveloka voucher instead of cash. Accepting one of those ends your right to a cash refund, so only say yes if you're certain you'll rebook before it expires.
