ECOVACS Rewards (still called ECOVACS Club on some pages) is free to join for anyone 18 or older. Guest checkouts don't earn or redeem points, so sign in to your account before every order.

• Creating an account adds a welcome bonus of 5,000 points, worth $50 at checkout.

• Orders on the official website or in the HOME app earn 1 point per $1.

• On Member's Day, the 11th of every month, purchases earn 2 points per $1 and app tasks earn double points.

Points work like cash at checkout, at 100 points to $1, but each order has a cap.

Using the example in the membership terms, a $1,000 robot order can take 30,000 points ($300 off), while an example $100 accessories kit takes only 1,000 points ($10). That gap makes a large balance worth far more on your next robot than on filters.

Points can also buy gifts, coupons or products under Mine and then Redeem Gifts, alone or with a payment. Items change often and some are reserved for higher levels. Since 1,000 points is always worth $10 at checkout, a gift is only good value when it costs fewer points than that rate for something you'd buy anyway.

Your points balance sets your membership level. Silver covers 1 to 6,999 points, Gold starts at 7,000 and Platinum at 50,000, and some reward items can only be redeemed at higher levels.

Purchase points stay pending for about 20 days after payment. Returning the item in that time cancels them, and a later return deducts them. Points for connecting a robot or finishing an app task land straight away.

Each batch of points lasts 12 months and drops off at the end of its expiry month, so points credited on 5 March expire at the start of April the following year. Points can't be transferred or exchanged for cash. Before a large purchase, spend any points close to expiry on a robot order, where the 30% cap gives them room, rather than letting them lapse.

Save it for a bigger basket, such as a half year kit, rather than a single side brush. Free gift vouchers have no cash value, carry their own conditions and expire, so use one on your next order rather than letting it sit in your account.

ECOVACS runs a referral program for Australian residents aged 18 or over. When a friend buys a qualifying product on the Australian website through your unique link, they get a stackable coupon and you receive a thank you reward 30 days after their order is completed and verified. Qualifying products, minimum spends and rewards change each sharing period.

No reward is issued if your friend skips the link, blocks cookies or cancels the order. We found, based on user reviews, that the friend's coupon appears in their account after signing up through the link, and that the billing email must match the account email. ECOVACS's biggest robot discounts cluster around these recurring events.

The ECOVACS HOME app tracks wear on your brushes, filters and mop pads, reminds you when they're due and lets you shop the official store. Replacing parts when the app says so, rather than on a guess, stops you buying too early, and seeing the due date ahead lets you plan one kit order that clears the free delivery threshold. Quarterly and half year kits are sold for many DEEBOT models, so match the kit length to how fast your robot actually wears through parts.

Based on our research, ECOVACS's own brand store on Amazon Australia often posts sharp robot prices during Prime Day and other Amazon events. That price isn't the full picture. Rewards points, the official Price Match Guarantee and any ECOVACS coupon code apply only on the official website, so a slightly lower Amazon price can cost more once you count the points you'd have earned or redeemed. As a rule of thumb, Amazon only wins when its price beats the official one by more than the 1% to 2% you'd earn in points plus any coupon you could use.
